It feels like yesterday that we watched Wayne Goss' contouring video on Youtube, and boom! 3 years later he is one of the most influential Youtube Guru. His success is actually not an unpredictable thing, as he always put much effort and love within every video he made. From his generous tips and tutorial we literally learned how to do our makeup like a pro. Looxperiments team were jumping all over the couch as he is willing to do a short interview regardless of his tight schedule.
From a sneak-peek of his upcoming brush collection to his favorite dessert, here is our Looxtalk special with Wayne Goss a.k.a Gossmakeupartist. :)

(1) Some people tend to keep what they know for themselves, where as you openly share your knowledge through YT, why are you willing to do so?
There
is a distinct lack of wanting to share in the makeup community.
Especially in editorial makeup. If you share someone might steal your
ideas! I never saw it that way. If you can cover someones under eye bags
- brilliant. Show it. Step by step. Believe me… the more you share the
more it will come back to you.
(2) How does having more than 800k subscribers on YT impact your life?
The
main impact s being recognized. It's still very odd to me. When someone
stops you and tells you they like your videos, its really lovely to
hear, but at the same time I'm thinking the whole time "but I'm no
one!".

(3) How long do you spend time in a week to make videos? Do you have any crews to help you?
It
depends. I tend to film in blocks, but now I'm trying to film something
daily. Filming can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour. Then
the editing. That's what takes the time. Its a pain!
(4) Do you have any tips for aspiring Vloggers about how to deal with negative comments on their videos?
Develop
a thick skin. I wish i could say I've down that 100% but sometimes
things till piss me off. But mostly i let it slide right off me. Its a
hard life with Youtube. Daily you will be ridiculed, belittled and
abused in some way or another. Sadly it goes with the territory.

HAHAHA!
lol bless you! I want the range to be what i want. It was a very
selfish desire. I wanted a crease brushes that were soft. If you've ever
used a MAC 224 you'll know what i mean. It feels like its exfoliating
the eye! I wanted brushes that could powder, apply
blush, bronzer, highlighter, contour all in one. No need to for 20
different brushes! I'm just waiting for the final samples now. Hopefully
they will be just perfect. If not - then we will go back and forth
until they are perfect. The main issue i ran into was cost. Having
artisans making them means the cost was a HUGE problem. Makeup brushes
can be made (by machine) for around 25p or £1 maximum. Made my hand they
can go from £5 up to £20! So that was a huge problem. I still wanted to
keep them affordable but i wanted the perfection that Japanese artisans
can provide. I really hope everyone likes them.
(6)
We've learned that you choose Japanese artisan to produce your brushes.
Why? And do you have any plans to visit Asia or maybe Indonesia?
At
the moment i have no plans. That's mainly due to flying issues. I HATE
FLYING. But if i get over that - then its absolutely a place i want to
visit.
(7) What is your favorite Asian beauty/makeup products?
Suqqu and RMK. Just perfection. Subtle. Simple. Beautiful products.

(8) What is your most memorable experience doing makeup for public figure? Who do you always wanted to work with?
I
had the most horrible experience once while working for a broadcasting
house. I worked for TV for many years. While i don't wish to name anyone
i will say, it was just awful. She wasn't the nicest person in the
world (at least to me) and after i finished i just wanted to cry! lol
I would love to work with Dolly Parton - because she seems to have such a good soul. She seems joyful. I like that.
(9)
You are very consistent in keeping your YT channel updated, how do you
keep yourself inspired? Moreover, how do you keep your mood in a good
shape?
When you love what you do - its not hard
to motivate yourself. This year I'm working on using more models and
focusing on makeup more than reviews. Reviews will still come but i'm
working soon on getting models in and showing more techniques. I
recently went back to school and relearnt everything i was taught. I
need an update. I wanted to keep moving forward.
(10) Are you a dessert person? If you are a dessert, what kind of dessert will you be?
I am. I like cake. Sponge cake with cream. LOVELY!
Aaa.... love wayne!!!
